The Center of social expertizes was established at the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Science in 1995 with the purpose of development and implementation of a social expertise program, creation of systems of social indicators and monitoring of various regional and national projects.
Since then the Center of social expertizes has implemented over 70 projects at the national and regional levels. The customers in these projects were governmental structures of Ukraine and a number of international organizations, such as UN, USAID, the International Fund 'Renaissance', the 'Eurasia' Fund, TACIS, the International Financial Corporation, the Liberty House, the US Embassy in Ukraine, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine, the World Bank and others.
The strategic objective of Center of social expertizes is to establish a national board of experts, monitor social development and create a system of social indicators.
The Center of social expertizes is a leading public scientific research institution for the issues of social evaluation of national programs and projects.
The mission of the Center of social expertizes lies in the establishment of a system of social indicators aimed at the evaluation of the quality of social policy of Ukraine.
The staff, working in the Center of social expertizes consists of highly qualified specialists (sociologists, political scientists, economists, and philosophers). There are 10 full-time employees, including 8 PhDs. The research scientific advisor of the Center is Y. Sajenko, Professor, Ph.D. in economics. Director of the Center is Y. Privalov, PhD in philosophy.
The Center of social expertizes implements projects of the scientific research and application nature, administers publishing activities, conducts sociological and marketing surveys, organizes conferences, seminars, trainings, presentations and carries out active educational activities. The Center of social expertizes has regional departments in Donetsk, Melitopol, Lviv, Kherson and Vinnitsa. There is a network of interviewers in all regions of Ukraine.
The basic sources of financing are funds of non-governmental structures of Ukraine, and charitable donations. |
